Newly Arrived Blu-rays on Flickr. There’s the “Every Which Way But Loose” & “Any Which Way You Can” double feature (happily on separate Blu-ray discs), “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” (this is the one edition to get because the dozens of rare outtakes and extras are what you’re really buying) and finally, a true staple of 1980s filmmaking at it’s best: “Better Off Dead.” I’ve got something coming in next week, but I forgot what it was… Now if I could only get Hollywood to release Hooper on Blu-ray, my life would be complete.

Massive Impact Explosion on Moon

According to this NASA-produced video on YouTube, there was a meteor impact on the moon so large, you could see it with the naked eye if you happened to be looking at it at that time.

Yes, there’s video. And it’s quite impressive.

Asking for your suggestions

Can you recommend me any good dark ambient music (without a rhythm) that’s Creative Commons?

My thoughts on the Oculus Rift

The Oculus Rift looks awesome, but it looks (at this time) to be limited to games on the WinTel platform. WEAK. Why stop there? Why not VR everything from the OS up. And I’m talking about OSX, Linux and everything that you can see on the screen, not just games. The browser, social media…

There’s NOTHING that couldn’t be used or upgraded with a product like this… and they’re focused on FPS games.

Apparently, these guys at Oculus Rift aren’t really looking forward to the future, they’re looking at their bank accounts. Sad.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to try one out and develop for it, but I doubt it’ll work with any equipment I have in the house since it’s not WinTel. There’s just under 20 items in my home that’s Wi-Fi enabled and they’re all Macs and game consoles.

My thoughts on filmmaking

Been watching trailers for this summer’s Hollywood blockbusters all morning and all I have to say is: I HATE YOU, HOLLYWOOD. What happened to originality? For one, they should stop making sequels & prequels; all they’re doing is trying to make a buck off an established franchise and that’s sick.

I have the equipment and I’ll make my own goddamn movies. And they will be better. The films that are considered classics are the ones that buck the trends and give the establishment the finger. “Citizen Kane” anyone?

I finally got my Glidecam balanced properly so now it’s time to create. I’ve placed a “Wanted: Experienced cameramen with *CAM experience. Need a good DOP too.” advertisment on IndieTalk.com. Let’s see what happens.

Every company makes their own weatherproof stickers for vehicles like bands, Apple and the like. I need to order a hundred of them that say FUCK HOLLYWOOD and give them out like candy. I’m pretty sure they’ll be popular.

If I were a cat, it would have cost me one life to adjust this Glidecam properly. But, it’s done. Test footage coming soon.

Woke up even more sick than usual, got up every hour on the hour last night. My voice is gone and my nose won’t stop running like Niagra Falls. I want to go back to bed so bad, but there’s so much to do.

I feel like I want to collapse.
