Orb? on Flickr.
Okay, do you see what I see? In the bottom right hand corner of the screen, something just… floats in. People say it’s an orb. I think it’s junk, dust or some other crap, but you tell me. Clip is 10 seconds long, 1280x720/30fps progressive.
I took this video with my iPhone 4S that was perched on the dashboard of the car, looking out.

New page online
After much work to get it “just right,” I’ve finally posted a single web page that gives you all the information you need about my books. Cover art, release dates, synopses, links to the publisher, copyright registration and even a BUY button exists.
That’s a lot of info! Check it out here:

Cha-cha-cha changes
Yeah, I know, I stole that from a David Bowie song. But hey, it’s a GOOD song!
Anyway, I wanted to let you know that the days of the obscure web name “Loud Orange Cat dot com” are over. The new website to find me at is
RobertYannetta.com
…and it points directly to this Tumblr page; exactly where you’ll find me full time.
Change your bookmarks, this one’s to...
I need a new Tumblr theme. Recommend me one?
Ah, my copy of Merriam-Webster’s Guide to Punctuation and Style came in today.
If you’re a writer, you should have this book.
If you’re a writer and don’t have this book, WHY?!

Evil, evil eBooks
There’s a lot of pros and cons out there about eBooks. First of all, here’s one “pro” for you:
All my eBooks are DRM-free. They do not require a password and can be freely copied to all your e-readers without limitation. Unfortunately, I feel like the only person to believe in this. Which leads me into the “cons” of the subject.
Recently, I had a reason to...

Tweeting Authors
As an author, I believe in communicating freely with your readers. What’s you’re about to read is an example of why authors should take time out of their busy day and tweet.

On March 26, I tweeted this:
I’m reading “Daughter of the Drow” by @e_cunningham, I really love this book and her style of prose. #drow #jealous
Very true....

I lied. Yet another RaV update.
I’m being told that my proof copies of Redemption and Vengeance will arrive Monday. If everything looks good, I will approve the print with the publisher and it will go on sale Monday, March 19.

A: “Simulacra and Simulation” by Jean Baudrillard

"Redemption and Vengeance" update
This will probably be the final update before the book is available for purchase.
I sent the completed manuscript to the publisher (modified with copyright registration number, ISBN number and advertisement for Pangurpad.com), front and back artwork and all associated materials needed for marketing.
It’s a geek thing… all of this on Pi day :)
I’ll know in a few days if all...
Is AIM going away? AOL layed off all but a skeleton crew for AIM support. News outlets say AIM is going away. BOO!
A cure for cancer... and no one notices
It’s things like this that piss me off.
According to this article: http://www.moneytrendsresearch.com/scientists-cure-cancer-but-no-one-takes-notice/, the cure for cancer is here, now. Lung cancer. Breast cancer. Brain cancer. Things may now be a thing of the past… but will never happen thanks to big pharma not noticing.
You see, the drug used to kill these types of cancer is not...
Had a slight problem with the original cover for “Redemption and Vengeance”, replaced it with a new one. The rear cover art is complete and the document is ready for printing.
I’m just waiting on an advertisement from a friend and the third book goes to the publisher!

RaV Copyright Received!
Today, the mailman delivered a letter from the Library of Congress: The copyright registration for “Redemption and Vengeance”, the final book in the Aquene Trilogy.
I couldn’t be happier. Here’s the scan of it: http://www.loudorangecat.com/rav/images/copyright.jpg
Now, we await publication which is NOT that far off.
Organ harvesting for fun and profit
We all have the option to voluntarily become an organ donor. But later on in life when we find that our bodies are sickly and want to withdraw our status as a donor, I find it frightening that we do not have that option. I don’t want to give cancer-riddled organs to people, so why can’t I withdraw my status as a donor? Money.
I read an article recently that said that organ harvesting...
Happy Birthday, Crystal!
"RaV" cover sneak peek
Want a glimpse at the new cover for “Redemption and Vengeance” ?
Take a look: http://www.loudorangecat.com/rav/index.html
This is a very LOW resolution peek to give you a taste. The book will be hitting the shelves some time before May. The moment I have a release date, I’ll let you know.
Cover art by Robert A. Floyd.
Book 3 cover art update
Hooray! The front cover art for book 3 has arrived and it is beautiful! A special thank you goes out to the artist, Rob A. Floyd for his (many late hours of) hard work he put into it. I was completely shocked how well the cover came out, flawless in every way.
Publication of “Redemption and Vengeance,” the final book in the Aquene Trilogy will go on sale in April.
Damn you Apple, just a week after I buy a second AppleTV for myself, you upgrade it to a new model that can handle 1080p.
Both hardcover and paperback rear cover designs for “Redemption and Vengeance,” the third book in my #drow trilogy are complete. #rpg #dnd
Tonight's Fortune Cookie says:
“Arriving at one goal is the starting point to another.”
I'm gonna cry.
This is NOT a good day for me today.
Four years ago today, Gary Gygax died.
Three years ago today, my mother died.
I’m going to curl up in a ball and cry for the rest of the day.
Leaving Scrivener for Bean
Scrivener is, without a doubt, the most powerful content-generation tool for writers available today for any platform. Whether you’re on a Mac or Windows, Scrivener is the de facto standard for anyone who writes.
When I read an online review for it about a year ago, I downloaded the free trial and gave it a shot. I admit, I loved what I saw and bought two copies (one for each Mac). I used...
Not feeling well.
I’ve not felt well in the last few days. You see, I wanted to see how long I could go without my prescription pain meds. As of this morning, the new record was three days. But I suffered big time for that. In the last 27 hours, I’ve slept 24 and I was finally at the point of tears, crying like a little girl.
I really tried, but this cancer’s got a hold on me. I took some...
